Connect Notion and ElevenLabs

Notion holds your scripts, articles and notes. ElevenLabs turns text into speech and speech into text. FlowMattic connects them from your WordPress site: a new Notion item becomes narration or multi-voice dialogue, a finished transcription becomes a Notion item, and voice changes become tasks. Podcasters, course creators and content teams keep the writing and the audio together.

Notion and ElevenLabs workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Save each finished ElevenLabs transcript in Notion

When a transcription completes, its text goes into a Notion database item, so interviews and calls are searchable alongside the rest of your notes.

Turn Notion scripts into multi-voice dialogue

Podcast and explainer scripts with several speakers become one dialogue recording, so a written draft can be heard before anyone books a studio.

Regenerate audio when a Notion script is edited

Each time the item is updated, ElevenLabs reads the new text and a fresh item in an audio log database records the version, so the latest narration is easy to find.

Create a task when a voice you use is being removed

A Voice Removal Notice becomes a Notion task with the voice name, so someone picks a replacement before scripts that rely on it stop working.

Feed published Notion pages to an ElevenLabs agent

When a help article is added to your Notion database, its public page link is added as a knowledge base document, so your voice agent answers from current content.

Set up: transcripts saved to Notion

At the end, every transcription ElevenLabs finishes is saved as an item in your Notion database.

  1. Prepare the Notion database

Create a database with properties such as Title, Transcript, Language and Date, and share it with the Notion connection you will use.

  2. Connect both apps

In FlowMattic, open Connects and add your Notion account and your ElevenLabs API key.

  3. Start with Transcription Completed

Create a workflow with the ElevenLabs Transcription Completed trigger and follow its instructions so your transcription requests report back to it.

  4. Add Create Database Item

Add a Notion Create Database Item step, choose the database and map the transcript text, language and date.

  5. Test and switch on

Run a short transcription, check the new item in Notion and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • As its description says, Transcription Completed fires only for speech-to-text requests that include the webhook parameter. Transcriptions started without it do not reach the workflow.
  • A workflow that starts on Updated Database Item and writes back to the same database can run again on its own change. Write to a different database, or add a Filter on a status property.
  • Text to Speech and Text to Dialogue use your ElevenLabs character allowance, so long Notion pages use more of it. Filter for items marked ready before converting.
  • Notion only lets the connection see pages and databases you have shared with it. Share the database before you pick it in the step.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Notion and ElevenLabs connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Scripts and audio in one place

Writers stay in Notion while ElevenLabs produces the narration, and the audio details land back beside the text.

Transcripts you can search

Interviews and recordings become Notion items your whole team can search, tag and link to projects.

Unlimited runs on your site

FlowMattic runs on your own WordPress site with no per-task fee. You pay ElevenLabs for characters and minutes, not for workflow runs.

Common questions

How do I convert Notion pages to speech with ElevenLabs?

Create a FlowMattic workflow with the Notion New Database Item trigger, add an ElevenLabs Text to Speech step with the item's text and a voice, then save the result with Update Database Item.

Can ElevenLabs transcripts go into Notion automatically?

Yes. The Transcription Completed trigger fires when a transcription that includes the webhook parameter finishes. Add Notion Create Database Item and map the transcript text.

Can one script have several voices?

Yes. Use Text to Dialogue instead of Text to Speech and map the script so each speaker's lines get their own voice.

Why does my update workflow keep running?

Writing back to the item you are watching counts as another update. Store the audio in a different database, as the library template does, or filter on a status property.

Can I choose the voice per item?

Yes. Keep a voice property in your Notion database and map it into the Text to Speech step, or use a Lookup Table to turn names into voice IDs.
