Connect WordPress and Facebook Pages

Your WordPress site is where you publish, your Facebook Page is where many readers see it. FlowMattic connects them inside WordPress: new posts are shared to the Page, video uploads become Reels, edits reach the Facebook post, and Page posts and photos can come back to your site. Bloggers, publishers and local businesses post once.

When WordPress fires New Post, FlowMattic runs Create Page Post in Facebook Pages with the data from that event.

WordPress and Facebook Pages workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Share every new WordPress post to your Facebook Page

When a post is published, a Page post with its title, excerpt and link goes out, so your followers see new articles without anyone copying them over.

Publish new video uploads as Page Reels

A Filter passes MP4 files added to the media library, then the video is uploaded and published as a Reel with the media title as its caption.

A Filter checks the post's category, so news and offers reach the Page while internal updates and minor posts stay on the site only.

Each new post in the Page feed is saved as a draft WordPress post, so updates written on Facebook can become blog content and stay on your own site.

Set up: share new posts to your Page

At the end, every post you publish in WordPress is shared to your Facebook Page with a link back to the article.

  1. Connect Facebook Pages

In FlowMattic, open Connects and add a Facebook Pages connection with a Facebook account that manages the Page.

  2. Start with New Post

Create a workflow with the WordPress New Post trigger and publish a test post so FlowMattic captures its title, excerpt and link.

  3. Add Create Page Post

Add a Facebook Pages Create Page Post step, choose the Page and write the message from the post's title and excerpt, with the permalink as the link.

  4. Test and switch on

Test the step, check the post on your Page, then switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • The Facebook account you connect must manage the Page, and the Page must be selected in each Facebook step.
  • New Post fires when a post is published. Scheduled posts are shared when WordPress publishes them, not when you schedule them.
  • Two-way workflows can loop: a Page post saved to WordPress and then published would be shared back to the Page. Keep the archived posts as drafts, or filter them out of the sharing workflow.
  • Reels go through two steps, Upload a Reel and then Publish a Reel. Map the upload step's result into the publish step.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

WordPress and Facebook Pages connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Publish once, reach both

Articles, videos and corrections go from WordPress to the Page by themselves, so the Page stays current with the site.

Facebook content kept on your site

Page posts, photos and live replays can be saved to WordPress, where you own them and search engines can find them.

Runs where your content lives

FlowMattic is a WordPress plugin with unlimited runs, so sharing every post and upload costs the same as sharing a few.

Common questions

How do I share WordPress posts to a Facebook Page automatically?

Create a FlowMattic workflow with the WordPress New Post trigger and a Facebook Pages Create Page Post step. Map the title, excerpt and permalink into the message, test and switch it on.

Can I post only some categories to Facebook?

Yes. Add a Filter after New Post that continues only when the post is in the categories you choose.

Can WordPress videos become Facebook Reels?

Yes. Use the New Media trigger with a Filter for video files, then Upload a Reel and Publish a Reel. The library template does this with the media title as the caption.

Does editing a WordPress post change the Facebook post?

Only if you build it. Save the Facebook post ID in post meta when you share, then use Update Post with Get Post Metadata and Update a Post to send edits.

Can Facebook Page posts be copied to my blog?

Yes. Start with New Post in Page Feed and add a WordPress New Post step set to draft, so an editor reviews each one before it goes live.

Can I share a featured image instead of a link preview?

Yes. Use Upload a Photo or Create a Post with Photos with the post's image URL, and put the article link in the caption.
