Connect Typeform and Google Sheets

Typeform is good at asking questions, and Google Sheets is where most teams count, sort and chart the answers. FlowMattic writes each Typeform response into your sheet as it arrives, and can sort, screen or enrich it on the way. It suits marketers running surveys, event organisers, recruiters and agencies with intake forms.

When Typeform fires New Form Submission, FlowMattic runs Add New Row in Google Sheets with the data from that event.

You build this in the FlowMattic workflow builder on your own site. See the setup steps

Typeform and Google Sheets workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Write each Typeform response into its own row

Every answer gets a column and every respondent a row, so charts, pivot tables and shared views work on survey data the moment people reply.

Keep only applicants who meet your criteria

A Filter checks answers such as years of experience or budget range, and only responses that qualify reach the shortlist sheet the hiring or sales team reads.

Split NPS replies into promoter, passive and detractor tabs

A Router reads the 0 to 10 score and writes the response to the matching tab, so the team calling unhappy customers has a list of only the detractors.

Get Row Count checks how many places are taken. A Router adds the person to the attendee tab while seats remain and to a waitlist tab once the limit is reached.

Label open feedback by sentiment and theme with an AI Agent

Free text answers are hard to count. The AI Agent returns a sentiment and a short theme such as pricing or onboarding, and both go in their own columns next to the reply.

Copy a project tab for each new client intake

When a client completes your intake Typeform, Copy Sheet duplicates your project template tab and Update Cell Data writes the client's name and start date at the top.

Turn price and quantity answers into a ready-to-sum order line

For order or quote forms, Number Formatter works out and formats the line total before the row is written, so the sheet's sum column is correct without extra formulas.

Set up: each response as a row

When you finish, every new response to your chosen Typeform is added to the sheet as a single row.

  1. Set the columns

Give the sheet one header per question you want to keep, plus columns for the submitted time and any hidden fields.

  2. Connect Typeform and Google Sheets

In FlowMattic Connects, add your Typeform account and a Google account that can edit the spreadsheet.

  3. Trigger on New Form Submission

Create a workflow with Typeform and New Form Submission, choose the form and submit a test response so the answers are captured.

  4. Map answers to columns

Add Google Sheets with Add New Row, choose the spreadsheet and tab, map each answer to its header, test and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Typeform has one trigger and no actions here, so the sheet cannot send anything back to Typeform. All examples start from a new response.
  • Answers are matched to the questions in your own form, so the mapping is an example. If you add or reword a question, submit a fresh test response and map it again.
  • Only responses that arrive after the workflow is on are written. Older responses can be exported from Typeform and added once with Import CSV or JSON to Existing Sheet.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Typeform and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Survey answers go through your server

Responses travel from Typeform to your own WordPress site and on to Google, rather than through an extra automation provider.

Large surveys, same price

Runs are unlimited, so a customer survey sent to your whole list writes every response without a task limit.

Sort it before it lands

Router, Filter and AI Agent work on each response first, so the sheet holds the right rows in the right tabs instead of one long list to clean.

Common questions

Can multiple Typeforms feed one spreadsheet?

Yes. Build one workflow per form and point them at the same spreadsheet, either at separate tabs or at one tab with a column holding the form name.

Do Typeform hidden fields come through?

Hidden fields you set on the form, such as a source or campaign value in the link, arrive with the response and can be mapped to their own columns like any answer.

How do I keep partial or test responses out?

Only completed submissions start the workflow. To keep your own tests out too, add a Filter that stops when the email is yours or a hidden test field is set.

Can each answer in a multiple choice question get its own column?

Yes. Map the answer into a column, or use Text Formatter to split the chosen options and write each to its own column, so you can count how often each choice was picked.

Can the sheet tell me when a response arrives?

Add an Email (SMTP) step after Add New Row with a short summary and the sheet link, or send it to your team chat in the same workflow.
