Connect DailyBot and Slack

DailyBot runs your async standups, forms and kudos. FlowMattic takes what people answer and sends it further in Slack: blockers from a check-in go to the team lead, form responses go to the channel that owns the form, kudos land in a wins channel, and new team members are invited to their team's channel. Answers reach the people who act on them, not just the report.

DailyBot and Slack workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Post each form response to the team that owns the form

Requests collected with DailyBot forms, such as equipment or time-off asks, go to the channel of the team that handles them with every answer laid out in one message.

Flag blockers from daily check-ins to team leads

A Filter passes completed check-ins where the blockers answer is not empty. The leads' channel sees who is stuck and on what, without reading every standup.

Collect kudos in a wins channel

Recognition given in DailyBot is copied to a company-wide wins channel, so praise from one team is seen by everyone and is easy to find at review time.

Invite new team members to their team's channel

When someone is added to a DailyBot team, Slack finds them by email and invites them to the matching channel, so they are in the conversation on their first standup.

A deactivated DailyBot user is often someone leaving. The IT private channel gets their name so access to other tools is reviewed on the same day.

Send managers a short digest of each check-in

An AI Agent condenses a long check-in into progress, plans and risks in three lines, and the manager gets it as a direct message instead of a wall of text.

Set up: form responses to the owning team

You will end with every new response to a DailyBot form posted to the channel of the team that handles it.

  1. Connect Slack

Add Slack under Connects with an account that is in the channel where responses should go.

  2. Choose Form Response Created

Create a workflow with DailyBot's Form Response Created trigger and follow the trigger's instructions to link your DailyBot organisation.

  3. Answer the form once

Fill in the form yourself in DailyBot, so FlowMattic captures a response with each question as a field.

  4. Lay out the message

Add Send Channel Message, pick the channel and place each answer on its own line. Test the step and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • DailyBot already posts check-in reports in your chat. These workflows add routing on top, so send them to channels other than the one DailyBot reports to, or people see the same answers twice.
  • Check In Response Updated and Form Response Updated run when someone edits an answer. Use them to correct a log, but leave them out of alert workflows to avoid repeat posts.
  • Invite User To Channel needs the connected Slack account to be a member of the target channel.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

DailyBot and Slack connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Answers reach the person who acts

Blockers go to leads, requests go to the owning team and kudos go to everyone, instead of all answers sitting in one standup report.

Team changes keep Slack in step

People added to or removed from DailyBot teams can be invited to channels or flagged to IT from the same events.

Unlimited runs for daily standups

FlowMattic runs on your own WordPress site, so a hundred people checking in every day adds no per-task cost.

Common questions

How do I send DailyBot check-in answers to a Slack channel?

Create a FlowMattic workflow with the DailyBot Check In Response Completed trigger, add Slack's Send Channel Message and choose the channel. Complete a test check-in, map the answers into the message and switch it on.

Can only check-ins with blockers be posted?

Yes. Add a Filter after the trigger that passes responses where your blockers question has an answer. Check-ins without blockers stop there and nothing is posted.

Can new DailyBot team members join Slack channels on their own?

Yes. Organization Team User Added starts a workflow that looks the person up with Find User by Email and runs Invite User To Channel. A Lookup Table maps each DailyBot team to its channel.

What happens when someone deletes a form response?

Form Response Deleted runs, so a separate workflow can post a note to the owning channel or remove the matching row in a log you keep elsewhere.
