Airtable bases hold the requests, projects and applicants a team works through, and Slack is where that team talks. FlowMattic posts each new Airtable record to the right Slack channel or person and can write Slack details back into the record, all from a workflow on your WordPress site.

Airtable and Slack workflows you can build
Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.
Post every new Airtable record to a channel
A content request, bug report or job application added to the base appears in the team channel with the fields that matter, so it gets picked up without anyone refreshing a view.
New Record→Send Channel Message
Send the assignee a direct message
Map the record's assignee email to Find User by Email and the person gets a private Slack note about the record, which suits work the whole channel does not need to see.
New Record→Find User by Email→Send Direct Message
Route records to channels by a single-select field
A Router reads the Department or Type field, so design requests go to the design channel and IT requests go to IT, from one base and one workflow.
New Record→Router→Send Channel Message
Open a Slack channel for each new project record
Agencies that track clients in Airtable get a project channel created from the record name, and the channel ID is saved back into the record for later workflows.
New Record→Create Channel→Update Record
Nudge the channel when a record sits untouched for a day
Wait a day, read the record again and continue only if its status is still New. Requests nobody claimed get a second mention instead of going stale.
New Record→Delay→Get Record→Filter→Send Channel Message
Summarise long-text records with AI before posting
Feedback forms and briefs often arrive as paragraphs. An AI Agent step turns the long-text field into three lines, so the channel message is readable at a glance.
By the end, each record added to your chosen Airtable table appears as a message in one Slack channel.
1
Connect Airtable
Add an Airtable connection under Connects in FlowMattic with an account that can read the base.
2
Connect Slack
Add a Slack connection for the workspace you post to.
3
Watch the table
Create a workflow with the Airtable New Record trigger, choose the base and table, and add a test record so its fields are captured.
4
Build the message
Add Send Channel Message, choose the channel, place the record's fields in the text, test the step and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair
A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.
Good to know
Airtable's only trigger here is New Record. Edits to existing records do not start a workflow, so re-read a record with Get Record after a Delay when you need its later state.
Slack has no triggers in FlowMattic. To create Airtable records from outside events, start with Webhook or another app and use Create Record.
Field names come from your own base, so the mapping above is an example only.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic
Airtable and Slack connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.
Record data never leaves your route
Records go from Airtable to Slack through your own WordPress server, which keeps applicant and client details out of yet another vendor account.
A large base costs the same
Runs are unlimited, so a base that gains thousands of records a month does not need a bigger plan.
Slack details go back into Airtable
Channel IDs and message links can be written back with Update Record, so later workflows know where each record is being discussed.
Common questions
How do I set up a Slack Airtable integration without code?
Connect both accounts in FlowMattic, start a workflow with Airtable's New Record trigger, then add a Slack step such as Send Channel Message. Fields are mapped by picking them from the captured test record.
Can I post only records that match a condition?
Yes. Add a Filter after New Record and continue only when, for example, Priority is High or the Type field is Bug.
Can a Slack message create an Airtable record?
Not from Slack itself, since Slack has no triggers in FlowMattic. Use the Webhook trigger or a form plugin's trigger, then Create Record and a Slack message in the same workflow.
Will updates to a record post again?
No. New Record runs once for each new record. If you need a reminder about a later state, add a Delay and Get Record to check the record again.
Can each record have its own Slack channel?
Yes. Use Create Channel with the record's name, then Update Record to save the channel ID in a field. Later workflows can read that field and post into the same channel.
