Connect Fluent Support and Slack

Fluent Support keeps your helpdesk inside WordPress, and Slack is where the support team talks during the day. FlowMattic posts new tickets, customer replies and overdue cases to the right channel or agent, and can add an AI-drafted reply for review. Small support teams get faster first responses without watching the ticket list.

When this happens in Fluent Support6 triggers

Do this in Slack14 actions

1. TriggerCustomer Replies to a Ticket
2. ActionSend Channel Message

When Fluent Support fires Customer Replies to a Ticket, FlowMattic runs Send Channel Message in Slack with the data from that event.

You build this in the FlowMattic workflow builder on your own site. See the setup steps

Fluent Support and Slack workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Alert agents in Slack when a customer replies

A reply on an open ticket is posted to the support channel with the ticket subject and link, so the agent who owns it can jump back in.

Escalate urgent tickets to an on-call channel

A Filter keeps only tickets with high or critical priority and posts them where on-call staff are watching, while normal tickets stay in the queue.

Post an AI draft reply to Slack for review

An AI Agent step reads each new ticket and drafts a first answer, which is posted to Slack so an agent can check it and send it from Fluent Support.

Ping the team lead about tickets still open after four hours

Wait for your response window, fetch the ticket again and continue only if it is still open. The lead gets a direct message about tickets at risk.

Post a weekly ticket count to the support channel

Every Monday the workflow fetches your tickets and posts a short summary, giving the team a weekly view of the queue without opening reports.

Tag and route tickets by subject to billing or tech

A Router checks the subject for words like invoice or error, adds a matching tag in Fluent Support and alerts the squad that handles it.

Set up: customer reply alerts

After setup, each customer reply on a ticket is posted to your support channel in Slack.

  1. Connect Slack

Add a Slack connection in FlowMattic under Connects. Fluent Support runs on your site and needs no connection.

  2. Choose the trigger

Create a workflow with Customer Replies to a Ticket.

  3. Reply to a test ticket

Log in as a test customer and reply to a ticket so FlowMattic captures the data.

  4. Post to Slack

Add Send Channel Message, choose the support channel, include the subject, customer name, reply excerpt and ticket link, then test and switch on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Ticket Created runs for tickets opened by customers and by agents. Add a Filter if you only want customer tickets posted.
  • Add Tag to Ticket (Pro) and Remove a Tag From Ticket (Pro) need Fluent Support Pro.
  • Slack has no triggers in FlowMattic, so replying in Slack does not answer the customer. Reply in Fluent Support, or use Reply to Ticket in a workflow.
  • Ticket text can include customer details, so post full replies only in private channels.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Fluent Support and Slack connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Tickets stay on your server

Fluent Support and FlowMattic both run on your WordPress site, so ticket content goes from your database to Slack directly.

Busy weeks cost the same

Runs are unlimited, so a launch week with many tickets does not change your bill.

The helpdesk can act too

Fluent Support actions such as Reply to Ticket and Add Tag to Ticket (Pro) sit in the same workflow as the Slack alert.

Common questions

Can each agent get alerts only for their own tickets?

Yes. Use the assigned agent's email from the ticket data with Find User by Email, then send a direct message instead of a channel post.

Can an AI reply be sent to the customer automatically?

Yes, with Reply to Ticket after the AI Agent step. Many teams post the draft to Slack first and only send automatically for simple topics.

Do closed tickets post to Slack?

They can. Agent Closes a Ticket and Customer Closes a Ticket each start a workflow, which suits a wins channel or a satisfaction follow-up.

Can I escalate tickets that sit unanswered?

Yes. Add a Delay after Ticket Created, fetch the ticket with Get Specific Ticket and continue only if its status is still open.

Does this need Fluent Support Pro?

Only the two tag actions are marked Pro in FlowMattic's list for Fluent Support, so Add Tag to Ticket (Pro) and Remove a Tag From Ticket (Pro) need Fluent Support Pro.
