Connect ClickUp and Airtable

Keep the data in Airtable and the work in ClickUp. New records become tasks, lists or checklists, and what happens to tasks, such as completion, tracked time or a new goal, is written back to Airtable as records you can report on. FlowMattic runs each workflow from your WordPress site.

When ClickUp fires Task Created, FlowMattic runs Create Record in Airtable with the data from that event.

ClickUp and Airtable workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Create a ClickUp task from every new Airtable record

Requests, content ideas or orders collected in an Airtable table each become a task in the ClickUp list your team works from, with the record's details in the description.

Log completed ClickUp tasks as Airtable records

A Filter lets only tasks whose status is now complete through, and each one is added to an Airtable table, so you have a history of delivered work to sort and count.

Record tracked time in Airtable for client billing

Each time someone tracks time on a task, a record is created with the task name, person and duration. Monthly invoices are built from that table instead of exports.

Open a ClickUp list for each new client record

When sales adds a signed client to Airtable, ClickUp gets a list named after the client and a first kickoff task in it, ready for the project lead.

Add a publishing checklist to tasks for new content records

Editorial teams plan pieces in Airtable. Each new piece becomes a task with a checklist for draft, edit, images and publish, so every article follows the same steps.

Keep a goals register in Airtable

New ClickUp goals and key results are copied into an Airtable table, so leadership can review targets next to budgets and other data they already keep there.

Send new records to the right list by priority

A Router reads the priority field of each new Airtable record. Urgent items become tasks in the team's urgent list with a tag, the rest go to the backlog list.

Set up: a task for each new record

At the end, every new record in your Airtable table creates a task in the ClickUp list you choose.

  1. Connect Airtable

Add an Airtable connection under Connects with an account that can read the base you want to watch.

  2. Connect ClickUp

Add a ClickUp connection for the workspace that holds the target list.

  3. Trigger on New Record

Create a workflow with the Airtable New Record trigger, choose the base and table, and add a sample record so its fields are captured.

  4. Create the task

Add ClickUp Create Task, pick the list, map the record fields into the task name, description and due date, test it and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Airtable has one trigger here, New Record, so edits to existing records do not start a workflow. Add a new record for each request you want turned into a task.
  • ClickUp's actions can create, comment on, tag and delete tasks, but there is no action to update a task, so changes in Airtable cannot rewrite an existing task.
  • Airtable field names in the mapping are an example. Use the fields of your own table.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

ClickUp and Airtable connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Each tool keeps its own job

Airtable stays the place for structured data and reporting, ClickUp stays the place for assigned work, and the workflow copies only what each side needs.

Busy boards cost the same

Runs are unlimited and happen on your own WordPress server, so logging every time entry or status change does not push you onto a bigger plan.

Use WordPress data too

Add form entries, WooCommerce orders or FluentCRM contacts from your site to the same workflow, and they can become records or tasks as well.

Common questions

How does the Airtable ClickUp integration work in FlowMattic?

You pick a trigger from one app, such as Airtable New Record or a ClickUp task event, and add actions from the other, such as Create Task or Create Record. FlowMattic runs the workflow on your WordPress site each time the trigger fires.

Can a ClickUp status change update the matching Airtable record?

Yes, if you store the Airtable record ID on the task when you create it, for example in the description. A ClickUp trigger can then pass that ID to Update Record.

Can I log only finished tasks, not every edit?

Yes. Start from Task Updated or Task Status Updated and add a Filter that continues only when the status is your done status.

Will a deleted task leave a trace in Airtable?

Only if you build it. Task Deleted can start a workflow that adds a record with the task details, which gives you an audit list of removed work.

Can one Airtable record create several ClickUp tasks?

Yes. Add more Create Task or Create Sub Task steps, or loop over a list in the record with Iterator and create one task for each item.
