Connect Jotform and Mailchimp

Jotform collects sign-ups, registrations and surveys; Mailchimp sends the emails that follow. FlowMattic adds each respondent to the right audience with the tags and fields your campaigns use, and only when they ticked the consent box. Returning people get their details updated, and survey answers end up as notes on their Mailchimp profile.

When Jotform fires New Form Submission, FlowMattic runs Add New Member in Mailchimp with the data from that event.

Jotform and Mailchimp workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Add each Jotform respondent to a Mailchimp audience

Every submission creates a member with email, first and last name, so newsletter and lead magnet forms fill your audience without a CSV import.

Subscribe only people who ticked the consent box

A Filter checks the marketing consent checkbox before anything reaches Mailchimp, so a contact or quote form can feed the audience without adding people who did not opt in.

Tag new subscribers with the topics they chose

A checkbox question such as Which topics interest you becomes Mailchimp tags, so each campaign goes to the segment that asked for it.

Find Member looks up the email, and Update Member writes the new name, birthday or city to merge fields, without creating a second contact.

Add Member Event logs a registered event on the member, which your Mailchimp customer journey can use to send reminders and the replay link.

Save survey answers as a note on the subscriber

Feedback surveys sent to your list come back with useful answers. A note on the member's profile keeps them where the marketing team plans the next email.

Archive people who ask to be removed through a form

A short Jotform remove me form finds the member by email and archives them, which suits sites that take requests by form instead of only the email footer link.

Set up: respondents added to your audience

Once set up, each new submission on your Jotform form adds the person to your Mailchimp audience.

  1. Connect both accounts

Under Connects in FlowMattic, add a Jotform connection and a Mailchimp connection with access to the audience you want to fill.

  2. Start with New Form Submission

Create a workflow with the Jotform trigger, choose the form and submit it once so FlowMattic captures its answers.

  3. Add New Member

Add Mailchimp Add New Member, pick the audience, map the email and names to merge fields and choose the subscription status.

  4. Test and switch on

Test the step with an email you own, check it in the audience and turn the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Jotform answers arrive by question, so the field names depend on your form and the mapping above is an example. Create custom merge fields in Mailchimp before you map to them.
  • Mailchimp keeps one member per email in each audience. Use Find Member first when the same person may fill in the form again, then update instead of adding.
  • Mailchimp triggers such as New Unsubscriber can start other workflows, but those on this page only run from Jotform to Mailchimp and leave form data alone.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Jotform and Mailchimp connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Respondent data passes your server only

Names and emails go from Jotform to Mailchimp through your own WordPress site, without another automation company in between.

Popular forms do not cost more

Runs are unlimited, so a giveaway form with thousands of entries costs the same as a small contact form.

More than a list sign-up

The same submission can add tags, notes and events, so Mailchimp knows why someone joined, not only that they did.

Common questions

How do I add Jotform submissions to Mailchimp?

Connect both accounts under Connects, start a workflow with Jotform New Form Submission and add Mailchimp Add New Member. Map the email and name fields, test with your own email and switch the workflow on.

Can I send people to different audiences from one form?

Yes. Add a Router after the trigger that checks an answer, such as a language or region question, with an Add New Member step for each audience.

Should new members be subscribed or pending?

Choose pending in Add New Member if you want Mailchimp to send its double opt-in email. Choose subscribed only when the form already records clear consent.

Can paid form submissions get a customer tag?

Yes. If your Jotform form takes payments, add a Filter on the payment status and run Add Member Tag with a tag such as customer for those submissions.
