Connect Elementor and WordPress

Your Elementor Pro forms already sit on the pages you designed. With FlowMattic, each entry can do real work on the same WordPress site: create a draft listing with its photo, open a member account, update a profile field or file a privacy request. Nothing leaves your server, and no extra form plugin is needed.

When Elementor fires New Form Submission, FlowMattic runs New Post in WordPress with the data from that event.

You build this in the FlowMattic workflow builder on your own site. See the setup steps

Elementor and WordPress workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Save submitted listings as draft posts

Directories, job boards and event sites collect listings on an Elementor form. Each entry becomes a draft post with the title and description filled in, waiting for an editor to publish.

Use the uploaded photo as the listing's featured image

The form's upload field gives a file URL. The workflow adds it to the media library and sets it as the new post's thumbnail, so the draft is ready to preview.

Open a member account and let them choose a password

An access request form creates the account only if the email is new, then sends WordPress's own password reset email, so you never type or send a password yourself.

Store profile answers in user meta

A preferences form on a members page looks the person up by email and saves answers such as company or interests to their user meta, where membership and theme code can read them.

File privacy data requests from a front-end form

A privacy page form starts WordPress's export or erase request for the email given. A Router picks the request type, and WordPress sends its usual confirmation email.

File each listing in the category picked on the form

A dropdown for region or type is turned into a category on the new draft, so approved listings appear on the right archive page without editing them.

Hold a guest post until an editor approves it

A Human in the Loop step asks an editor to approve the entry. Approved posts are set to published, and rejected ones stay as drafts for later.

Set up: listings as draft posts

At the end, every entry on your Elementor listing form is saved as a draft post on your site.

  1. Check Elementor Pro

The trigger reads forms built with the Elementor Pro Form widget, so make sure Elementor Pro is active and the form is published on a page.

  2. Start from the form

Create a workflow with the Elementor New Form Submission trigger and submit the form once so FlowMattic captures its field IDs.

  3. Create the draft

Add WordPress New Post, set the status to draft, and map the listing title and description fields from the form.

  4. Test and switch on

Test the step, open the draft in wp-admin to check it looks right, then switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Every workflow here starts from an Elementor form submission, so WordPress events do not change an Elementor form.
  • Form fields are read by the IDs set in the Elementor editor, so the mapping is an example. Give each field a clear ID before you build the workflow.
  • Elementor file uploads are saved as links. Pass the link to New Media to bring the file into the media library before using it as a featured image.
  • Create User if Not Exists skips emails that already have an account, so a second access request does not fail the run or make a duplicate.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Elementor and WordPress connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Forms that build your site's content

Entries become posts, users and meta on the same site, so an Elementor form can run a directory or member signup with no extra plugin.

Visitor details stay in WordPress

The form, the workflow and the new content all live on your server, which matters for member data and privacy requests.

Unlimited entries at one price

Runs are unlimited on every FlowMattic plan, so a popular form costs no more to automate than a quiet one.

Common questions

Can an Elementor form create a WordPress post?

Yes. Start with the Elementor New Form Submission trigger and add WordPress New Post. Map the form's title and content fields, choose draft or published, and add Set Post Thumbnail or Add Category to Post if you need them.

Does this work with the free version of Elementor?

No. The trigger reads submissions from the Form widget, which is part of Elementor Pro. The rest of the workflow uses WordPress itself and needs nothing else.

How do I avoid creating the same user twice?

Use Create User if Not Exists instead of New User. It checks the email first and only creates an account for someone new, so repeat submissions pass without an error.

Can a form request a copy of someone's personal data?

Yes. GDPR Request Export Personal Data and GDPR Request Erase Personal Data start the same requests WordPress offers under its privacy tools. WordPress then emails the person to confirm before anything is exported or erased.

Can I check entries before they go live?

Yes. Create the post as a draft and add a Human in the Loop step. The editor approves or rejects it, and Set Post Status publishes only the approved ones.
