Add OpenAI to your Discord server without writing a bot. Members can ask for images in a dedicated channel, messages are checked by OpenAI's moderation, posts in other languages get an English copy and audio clips become text. FlowMattic runs each workflow on your WordPress site with your own OpenAI key.

1. TriggerNew Message Posted to Channel
2. ActionGenerate Image
When Discord fires New Message Posted to Channel, FlowMattic runs Generate Image in OpenAI (ChatGPT) with the data from that event.
You build this in the FlowMattic workflow builder on your own site. See the setup steps
Discord and OpenAI (ChatGPT) workflows you can build
Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Run an image playground channel with OpenAI
Members type a prompt in one channel. A Filter keeps only real prompts, OpenAI generates the picture and the bot posts it back, which gives creative communities something to play with.
New Message Posted to Channel→Filter→Generate Image→Send Channel Message
Create Moderation scores each message for harassment, hate and other categories. Flagged ones are copied to a private moderators channel with a link, so a person decides what to do.
New Message Posted to Channel→Create Moderation→Filter→Send Channel Message
Post a daily AI-written tip to your server
A Schedule asks OpenAI for one short tip on your topic each morning, so a learning or product community gets a regular post that starts conversations.
Schedule→Generate Content→Send Channel Message
Translate posts from an international channel into English
Servers with members across countries can keep a local-language channel. Ask Chat GPT translates each post and the bot copies it, with the author's name, to an English channel.
New Message Posted to Channel→Ask Chat GPT→Send Channel Message
Transcribe audio clips members post
Voice notes are quick to send but hard to skim. Create Transcription turns an attached audio file into text, posted under the clip so everyone can read and search it.
New Message Posted to Channel→Filter→Create Transcription→Send Channel Message
Turn bug screenshots into written forum reports
When a member drops a screenshot in the bug channel, Analyze Image describes what it shows and the bot opens a forum post with that description, so the dev team gets a searchable report.

Triggers and actions in this pair
A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.
Good to know
OpenAI has no triggers here, so workflows start from a Discord event, a Schedule or a Webhook.
When the bot posts in the channel it watches, its own message starts the workflow again. Filter out messages written by the bot.
Every OpenAI request is billed to your API key, and images cost more than text. Keep the image workflow to one channel and add a Filter on who can use it.
Moderation scores are a signal, not a verdict. Send flagged messages to moderators rather than removing roles or messages automatically.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic
Discord and OpenAI (ChatGPT) connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.
Server features without hosting a bot
Image, translation and transcription commands run as workflows on your WordPress site, so there is no bot server to keep online.
You choose the channels and limits
Filters decide which channels, members and messages reach OpenAI, so your API bill and your server stay under control.
No fee per message
FlowMattic has unlimited runs on every plan, so a busy server pays only what OpenAI charges for each request.
Common questions
Can I use ChatGPT in my Discord server with FlowMattic?
Yes. Trigger on New Message Posted to Channel, send the text to Ask Chat GPT or Generate Content, and post the answer with Send Channel Message. A Filter decides which messages the bot answers.
Can members generate images in Discord?
Yes. Watch one channel for prompts, pass each message to Generate Image and post the result back. Limit it to one channel or a role, because each image is billed to your OpenAI key.
Does the moderation check delete messages?
Not on its own. Create Moderation returns scores, and these examples send flagged messages to moderators. Discord has no delete message action here, so removal stays with your moderators.
Can the bot reply in a forum thread instead of a channel?
Yes. Use Send message in Forum Post for replies inside an existing thread, or Create new Forum Post to start a new one, as in the screenshot report example.
What does OpenAI receive from my server?
Only what you put in the step, such as the message text or an attachment link. Author names, roles and other fields stay out unless you add them to the prompt.
