Connect Razorpay and Slack

Razorpay reports a lot of events that someone should act on: a failed payment, a new dispute, a rejected payout, a subscription that stopped charging. FlowMattic sends the ones you choose into Slack from your WordPress site, so finance, support and founders of Indian businesses see money problems in the channel they already watch, with the details needed to act.

When Razorpay fires Payment Failed, FlowMattic runs Send Channel Message in Slack with the data from that event.

Razorpay and Slack workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Get a Slack alert when a Razorpay payment fails

Each failed payment posts the amount, method, customer contact and error reason to #payments, so support can reach the customer and help them pay another way.

Warn finance about new disputes and set a reminder

A new dispute goes to a private finance channel with the payment ID and amount, and a Slack reminder is set so evidence is gathered before the response deadline.

DM the finance lead when a payout is rejected or reversed

Payouts to vendors or staff that fail need a person, not a channel. FlowMattic finds the finance lead by email and sends the payout details as a direct message.

Show payment method downtime in the support channel topic

When Razorpay reports downtime for a method such as a bank or UPI, the support channel topic says so, and a message explains it, so agents know why customers cannot pay.

Tell customer success when a subscription is halted

A halted subscription has stopped charging after failed attempts. A message to #customer-success with the subscription and customer lets the team step in before the customer churns.

Post each settlement with the amount in rupees

Number Formatter turns the settlement amount into a readable rupee figure, and a short message in #finance shows what is on its way to the bank account.

Celebrate large paid orders in a sales channel

A Router checks the order amount. Big orders go to #wins with the customer name, and the rest go to a quieter log channel, so the team sees what matters.

Set up: Slack alerts for failed payments

When you finish, every failed Razorpay payment posts a message with its details to a Slack channel.

  1. Connect Slack

Add your Slack workspace under Connects and decide which channel should receive payment alerts.

  2. Start with Payment Failed

Create a workflow with the Razorpay Payment Failed trigger and follow the steps it shows to link your Razorpay account.

  3. Capture a sample

Make a test payment that fails, or wait for a real one, so FlowMattic has data to map.

  4. Format the amount

Add Number Formatter to show the amount in rupees rather than paise.

  5. Post the alert

Add Send Channel Message, pick the channel and build the text from the amount, method, contact and error description. Test it and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Razorpay has triggers only and Slack has actions only here, so every workflow runs from a Razorpay event into Slack.
  • Razorpay sends amounts in paise. Divide by 100 with Number Formatter before posting.
  • Razorpay has separate triggers for each dispute stage, such as Payment Dispute Won and Payment Dispute Lost. Build a workflow for each stage you want to hear about.
  • Customer emails and phone numbers will appear in Slack. Post them in a private channel if not everyone in the workspace should see them.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Razorpay and Slack connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Payment data stays on your server

Razorpay events reach FlowMattic on your own WordPress site and go to Slack from there, with no extra service in between.

Sale days cost the same

Runs are unlimited, so a festive sale with thousands of payments needs no bigger plan.

Each event finds its owner

Disputes go to finance, downtime to support and big wins to sales, using Razorpay's own event types.

Common questions

How do I get a Slack notification when a Razorpay payment fails?

Create a FlowMattic workflow with the Razorpay Payment Failed trigger and add Slack Send Channel Message. Map the amount, method and error description into the message, test it and switch it on.

Can I hear about refunds in Slack?

Yes. Razorpay has Refund Created, Refund Processed and Refund Failed triggers. Refund Failed is worth a direct message, since the customer is still waiting for their money.

Can payment links and invoices post to Slack too?

Yes. Payment Link Paid, Payment Link Expired, Invoice Paid and Invoice Expired are all triggers, so you can post when a customer pays or lets a link lapse.

Can different events go to different channels?

Yes. Each workflow posts to the channel you pick, and a Router inside one workflow can choose a channel by amount, method or notes on the payment.

Can I send a daily payment summary instead?

Razorpay has no action here that lists payments, so a summary needs the events stored first. Save each payment to WP Tables as it arrives, and post a total from there on a Schedule.
