Connect Fluent Support and Mailchimp

Support conversations tell you a lot about a customer: what they use, what broke and whether it was fixed. FlowMattic passes that from Fluent Support to Mailchimp as members, tags and notes, and brings Mailchimp profile changes back to the helpdesk, so marketing emails respect what support already knows. Everything runs on your WordPress site.

Fluent Support and Mailchimp workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Add new ticket requesters to a Mailchimp audience

Everyone who opens a ticket and agreed to updates is added as a member, so product news and fix announcements reach the people who asked about them.

Tag members after their ticket is closed

When an agent closes a ticket, the customer gets a support resolved tag in Mailchimp, which a review request or satisfaction survey can target a day later.

Pause promotions while a customer has an open ticket

A new ticket adds an open ticket tag that your Mailchimp campaigns can exclude, and closing it removes the tag again, so nobody gets a sales email in the middle of a problem.

Write the ticket subject as a note on the Mailchimp member

A Router sends tickets about billing or a specific product to a note on the member, so marketers reading a profile can see what the customer contacted support about.

Update the helpdesk customer when a Mailchimp profile changes

When a subscriber edits their name or details through a Mailchimp preferences page, the matching Fluent Support customer is found and updated, so agents greet them correctly.

Open a ticket when a customer's email address bounces

Mailchimp cleans an address after it keeps bouncing. A ticket is created for that customer so an agent can reach them another way and fix the email on file.

Ask for feedback a day after the customer closes a ticket

When customers close their own ticket, a Delay waits a day and adds a feedback tag, so a Mailchimp automation sends a short survey once the fix has had time to settle.

Set up: ticket requesters in Mailchimp

At the end, each new Fluent Support ticket from a customer who opted in adds them to your Mailchimp audience.

  1. Connect Mailchimp

Add a Mailchimp connection under Connects so FlowMattic can see your audiences. Fluent Support runs on the same site and needs no connection.

  2. Start with Ticket Created

Create a workflow with the Fluent Support Ticket Created trigger and open a test ticket to capture the customer and ticket fields.

  3. Check consent

Add a Filter on the field that records marketing consent, such as a custom field on your ticket form, so only people who agreed continue.

  4. Add the member

Add Mailchimp Add New Member, choose the audience, map email and name, test it and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Support contacts did not sign up for marketing by opening a ticket. Only add people who agreed, and check this against the rules in your region.
  • Add Tag to Ticket (Pro) and Remove a Tag From Ticket (Pro) need Fluent Support Pro. The other Fluent Support actions are listed without that label.
  • Mailchimp tag and note actions work on existing members. Add the person with Add New Member first if they may not be in the audience.
  • The remove side of the open ticket tag uses Remove Member Tag in a second workflow started by Agent Closes a Ticket.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Fluent Support and Mailchimp connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Support context reaches marketing

Tags and notes from tickets let you hold back promotions from unhappy customers and follow up when something is fixed.

Customer records stay on your site

Fluent Support stores tickets in WordPress, and FlowMattic sends only the fields you map to Mailchimp from your own server.

No limit on ticket volume

Runs are unlimited, so a busy support week with hundreds of tickets costs the same as a quiet one.

Common questions

Can Fluent Support add customers to Mailchimp?

Yes. Start a workflow with Ticket Created and add the requester with Add New Member. A Filter on a consent field keeps people who did not opt in off your audience.

Can I stop sending campaigns to customers with an open ticket?

Yes. Add a tag in Mailchimp when the ticket opens and remove it when an agent closes it, then exclude that tag when you send a campaign.

Can a Mailchimp unsubscribe update Fluent Support?

Yes, in part. New Unsubscriber can start a workflow that finds the person with Create OR Get Customer Info and changes their profile with Update Customer, so agents can see they left the mailing list before suggesting a newsletter.

Will customer replies on a ticket send them more marketing?

Only if you build a workflow on Customer Replies to a Ticket. The examples here run on ticket creation and closing, so replies do not add tags unless you want them to.

Do I need Fluent Support Pro?

For most examples here, no. Ticket triggers, customer actions and replies are listed without a Pro label. Ticket tag actions are marked Pro.
