Connect WPForms and Slack

Put each WPForms entry in front of the people who act on it, in the Slack channel or direct message where they already work. Sales enquiries, job applications and support requests can each go somewhere different, with the answers laid out so nobody has to log in to WordPress to read them.

When WPForms fires New Form Submission, FlowMattic runs Send Channel Message in Slack with the data from that event.

WPForms and Slack workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Post every WPForms entry to a Slack channel

The simplest version: each submission becomes a message in one channel with the fields you pick, so the whole team sees new enquiries as they arrive.

Send each form to its own team's channel

A Router checks which form or department dropdown the entry came from. Quotes go to sales, bug reports to support and partnership requests to the founders' channel.

Message the chosen consultant directly

When a visitor picks a consultant in the form, a Lookup Table turns the name into an email, Slack finds that person and the entry arrives as a direct message to them alone.

Set a callback reminder from a call-me-back form

The person on phone duty gets a Slack reminder with the caller's name, number and preferred time, so the promised call happens even on a busy afternoon.

Share job applications and CVs with the hiring channel

Upload File puts the applicant's CV in the hiring channel next to a message with the role and answers, so reviewers open it from Slack instead of hunting through entries.

Open a client channel from an onboarding form

Agencies get a channel per client: the form names it after the company, sets the topic to the project brief and invites the account manager.

Summarise long messages and flag urgent ones

An AI Agent shortens a rambling message to two lines and rates urgency. Urgent entries go to a private channel for the on-call team, the rest to the general queue.

Set up: each entry in a channel

You will end with every entry from one WPForms form posted to the Slack channel you choose.

  1. Connect Slack

In FlowMattic, open Connects and add a Slack connection for the workspace that should receive the entries.

  2. Choose the form

Create a workflow with WPForms and New Form Submission, pick the form, then submit it once yourself so FlowMattic captures the fields.

  3. Write the message

Add a Slack step with Send Channel Message, pick the channel and lay out the fields you want, one per line.

  4. Test and turn on

Test the step, check the message in Slack, then switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • WPForms has one trigger and Slack has no triggers here, so every workflow runs from a form entry towards Slack.
  • The fields come from your form, so the mapping above is only an example. Add a test entry after you change the form so new fields can be mapped.
  • Invite User To Channel only works on a channel the connected Slack account is a member of. Creating the channel in the same workflow covers that.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

WPForms and Slack connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Entries go nowhere but Slack

Form answers pass from your WordPress site straight to your workspace, without sitting in a third-party automation account.

Busy forms cost the same

There is no per-task charge, so a contact form that gets thousands of entries a month runs on the same plan as a quiet one.

More than one message

Slack's actions include reminders, file uploads, new channels and direct messages, so one entry can set up the whole next step.

Common questions

How does the WPForms Slack integration work?

FlowMattic listens for the New Form Submission trigger on the form you pick and passes the answers to a Slack action, usually Send Channel Message. You build it on the workflow canvas in wp-admin and test it with a real entry before switching it on.

Can different WPForms forms post to different channels?

Yes. Either build one workflow per form, or use a single workflow with a Router whose paths check the form or a field value and post to their own channel.

Can uploaded files from the form reach Slack?

Yes. Map the file upload field into an Upload File step, and the file is added to your Slack workspace in the channel you choose.

Can I send an entry to one person instead of a channel?

Yes. Use Find User by Email with the person's work email and then Send Direct Message. A Lookup Table can pick that email from a dropdown answer in the form.

Can Slack reply to the person who filled in the form?

Slack has no triggers on this pair, so a reply in Slack cannot start a workflow. Add an Email (SMTP) step to the same workflow if the visitor should get a confirmation.
