Connect Fluent Support and AI Agents

A support inbox fills with the same questions, and the urgent ones hide among them. With FlowMattic, an AI agent reads each Fluent Support ticket as it arrives, writes a first answer, applies a topic tag or holds a draft for your approval. It suits small helpdesk teams on WordPress who want the routine work done before an agent opens the ticket.

Fluent Support and AI Agents workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Post a first answer and a topic tag on every new ticket

The agent reads the subject and message, answers common questions from the instructions you give it and tags the ticket by topic, so your team starts from a sorted queue.

Hold AI-drafted replies until a person approves them

For teams not ready to let AI answer customers, the draft waits in a Human in the Loop step. Approve it and it posts as a ticket reply; reject it and nothing is sent.

Tag frustrated customers from the tone of their replies

Each customer reply is read for sentiment. When the agent judges the customer upset or close to leaving, a Filter lets the workflow tag the ticket so a senior agent picks it up next.

Send billing complaints to finance with a tag and a reply

The agent decides whether a new ticket is about a charge, refund or invoice. A Router tags those for finance and posts a holding reply, while other tickets carry on as usual.

Email the support lead a morning summary of open tickets

A daily Schedule pulls the ticket list and the agent groups it by theme and urgency, so the lead knows where the day's effort should go before reading a single ticket.

Turn messages from another app into tickets only when needed

A Webhook catches messages from a chat widget or an outside form. The agent decides whether each one needs support and writes a clear subject, and only those become tickets.

Save a short summary of each closed ticket

When an agent closes a ticket, the AI agent condenses the problem and the fix into a few lines and stores them in WP Tables, which slowly builds a record your team can search.

Set up: first answer and tag on new tickets

At the end, every new Fluent Support ticket gets an AI-written first reply and a topic tag.

  1. Write the agent's instructions

List the questions the agent may answer, the tags it may choose from and the cases it must leave for a person.

  2. Choose Ticket Created

Start a workflow with the Fluent Support Ticket Created trigger and open a test ticket so FlowMattic captures a real subject and message.

  3. Add Execute Agent

Add an AI Agents step, pass it the ticket subject and content, and ask it to return a reply and one tag name.

  4. Post the reply

Add Reply to Ticket and map the ticket ID and the agent's reply text into it.

  5. Tag and switch on

Add Add Tag to Ticket (Pro) with the agent's tag, test each step with the captured ticket and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • AI Agents has no triggers, so these workflows start from a Fluent Support event, a Schedule or a Webhook.
  • Add Tag to Ticket (Pro) and Remove a Tag From Ticket (Pro) need Fluent Support Pro on your site.
  • Reply to Ticket posts as an agent, so the customer sees the AI's text as a reply from your team. Keep a person in the loop for anything about refunds or account access.
  • Ask the agent to return its answer in a fixed format, such as a reply and one tag from your list, so the following steps always receive the fields they expect.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Fluent Support and AI Agents connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Tickets never leave your server

Fluent Support stores tickets in WordPress, and FlowMattic runs the agent from the same site, so customer messages go only to the AI provider you choose.

A busy week costs the same

Runs are unlimited on every plan, so a launch that doubles the ticket count does not change what you pay for the automation.

You decide how much the AI does

Start with tags and summaries, add drafts behind an approval step, and let it reply on its own only for the questions you trust it with.

Common questions

Can the AI agent answer Fluent Support tickets on its own?

Yes. Execute Agent writes the reply and Reply to Ticket posts it on the ticket. Most teams begin with a Human in the Loop step in between, then remove it for question types where the answers have proved reliable.

Do I need Fluent Support Pro?

Only for tagging. Add Tag to Ticket (Pro) and Remove a Tag From Ticket (Pro) need Pro. Triggers, replies, ticket creation and customer actions are listed without that label.

Can the agent tell the difference between a bug report and a billing question?

Give it the categories you use and examples of each in its instructions. It returns a category, and a Router sends each one down its own path, such as a finance tag or a reply from the product team.

Can it react when a customer writes back, not only on new tickets?

Yes. Customer Replies to a Ticket starts a workflow on every customer reply, so the agent can answer follow-ups, judge the tone or tag the ticket for a person.

Can I create tickets from emails or chats outside WordPress?

Yes, if that tool can send a webhook. Catch it with the Webhook trigger, let the agent decide whether it needs support, then use Create a New Ticket Using Customer.
