Connect Stripe and Slack

Stripe knows when money comes in or a subscription ends, and your team talks in Slack. FlowMattic posts the Stripe events you pick to the channel or person who should act on them. It suits SaaS teams, course sellers and agencies who want sales, churn and invoice news where the team already reads.

Stripe and Slack workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Post each successful Stripe charge to a sales channel

Every paid charge shows up in a channel such as #sales with the amount, the customer email and the description, so the whole team sees revenue as it comes in.

Message the founder directly about payments above a set amount

A Filter lets only charges over your threshold through, and Send Direct Message tells one person, so large deals get a personal thank-you while routine sales stay in the channel.

Announce new subscriptions and set a check-in reminder

Customer success hears about each new plan with its name, and Add Reminder puts a note in Slack to check how the customer is getting on a week later.

Tell the retention team privately when a subscription ends

Cancellations are not news for the whole company. Send Private Channel Message posts each ended subscription to a private channel where the people who handle churn can follow up.

Open a Slack channel for every enterprise customer

When a subscription on your top plan starts, a Filter checks the plan, then FlowMattic creates a channel for that account, sets its topic to the plan and posts the first message.

Hand the account owner a win-back coupon when a plan ends

When a subscription ends, Create Coupon makes a one-off discount in Stripe and Send Direct Message gives its code to the person who looks after that customer, so the follow-up call comes with an offer.

Ask an AI Agent to flag charges worth a second look

The AI Agent reads the charge details and writes a short note on anything unusual, such as a mismatched country or a very large first order, and Slack posts it to a review channel.

Set up: Stripe charges in a Slack channel

At the end, every successful charge in your Stripe account is posted to the Slack channel you choose.

  1. Connect Stripe

In FlowMattic, open Connects and add a Stripe connection for the account that takes your payments.

  2. Connect Slack

Add a Slack connection for your workspace with a user who is in the channel you want to post to.

  3. Start with New Charge

Create a workflow with Stripe and New Charge, then make a test payment so FlowMattic captures a real charge.

  4. Write the message

Add Send Channel Message, choose the channel and write the text with the charge fields mapped in, then test it and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Slack has actions but no triggers, so every workflow here starts in Stripe, or with a Schedule or Webhook. Stripe's own actions, such as Find Customer by ID or Create Coupon, can run in between before the Slack message.
  • New Charge fires only for successful charges. Failed payments do not reach Slack through it.
  • Stripe sends amounts in the smallest unit of the currency, such as cents. Use Number Formatter to divide and format the figure before posting.
  • Invite User To Channel only works for a channel the connected Slack user is already a member of.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Stripe and Slack connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Payment data stays off extra services

The charge goes from Stripe to your WordPress site and then to Slack. It is not copied into another company's automation account along the way.

A big launch day costs the same

Runs are unlimited, so hundreds of charges on a sale day post to Slack without a task meter running.

Pick who hears about what

Sales, churn and invoices can each go to a different channel, a private channel or one person, with Filter and Router deciding in the same workflow.

Common questions

How do I get a Slack message for every new Stripe sale?

Create a workflow with Stripe's New Charge trigger and add Slack's Send Channel Message. Map the amount, currency and customer email into the text, test it with a real payment and switch it on.

Can I leave out small payments?

Yes. Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when the amount is above the figure you set. Remember the amount is in cents, so 10000 means 100.00 in a two-decimal currency.

Can different products go to different channels?

Yes. Put a Router after the trigger with one path per product or description, and give each path its own Send Channel Message step pointed at the right channel.

Can Slack tell me about failed payments?

The Stripe triggers here cover successful charges, invoices, subscriptions, products and plans. There is no failed payment trigger in the list, so failed payments are not covered by these workflows.

Can I post a daily sales summary instead of one message per charge?

None of the Stripe actions here returns sales totals; they create or find single records such as customers, invoices and coupons. A common route is to log each charge to a sheet or WP Tables and post a summary from there on a Schedule.
