Connect ClickUp and Discord

Communities report bugs and ask for features in Discord, while the work is planned in ClickUp. FlowMattic links the two: forum posts, requests and role mentions become ClickUp tasks, and progress in ClickUp is announced back in the right Discord channel. It suits game studios, open source projects, SaaS teams and creators who run a Discord server.

1. TriggerTask Created

When ClickUp fires Task Created, FlowMattic runs Send message in Forum Post in Discord with the data from that event.

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Turn each bug report forum post into a ClickUp task

A new post in your bug report forum creates a task with the title and description, and FlowMattic replies in the post with the task link so the reporter knows it was logged.

Announce finished work in a Discord updates channel

When a task's status changes, a Filter lets through only the done or shipped status, and a message goes to #updates so your community hears what changed without a manual post.

Sort feature requests with an AI Agent before filing them

Messages in a #feature-requests channel are read by an AI Agent that writes a clean title and picks a category, so the ClickUp task is ready to plan instead of a pasted chat line.

DM a team member on Discord when a task is assigned to them

A Lookup Table matches the ClickUp assignee to a Discord name, Find User gets the account, and a direct message tells them about the new task where they actually read.

Ping a staff channel when a task becomes urgent

Task Priority Updated with a Filter for urgent posts the task name, list and link to a private staff channel, so a sudden fire is seen by people who can act on it.

Give every new ClickUp list its own Discord channel

When a list for a new project or client is created, FlowMattic creates a matching channel and posts a first message with the list name, so discussion has a home from day one.

Create a support task when someone mentions the support role

Members tag @support when they are stuck. Each mention becomes a ClickUp task with the message and a link back, so requests in busy channels are tracked rather than scrolled away.

Set up: forum bug reports as tasks

When you finish, each new post in your Discord bug forum becomes a ClickUp task and gets a reply with its link.

  1. Connect Discord

In FlowMattic, open Connects and add Discord for the server that has your bug report forum.

  2. Connect ClickUp

Add a ClickUp connection for the workspace and pick the list where bug tasks should go.

  3. Start with New Forum Post

Create a workflow with Discord and New Forum Post, choose the forum channel, and make a test post so FlowMattic captures it.

  4. Create the task

Add ClickUp with Create Task. Map the post title to the task name and the post content and author to the description.

  5. Reply in the post

Add Send message in Forum Post with the task URL, test the whole workflow and switch it on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • ClickUp's actions here can fetch a single task by ID but cannot list or search tasks, so a daily Discord digest of open work is not something this pair can build on its own.
  • Task Updated fires on any change to a task. Use the narrower triggers, such as Task Status Updated or Task Priority Updated, to keep Discord quiet.
  • If a workflow posts into the same channel that New Message Posted to Channel watches, add a Filter on the author so its own messages do not start it again.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

ClickUp and Discord connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Community input lands in the plan

Bug reports and ideas move from chat into ClickUp with their context, so nothing depends on a moderator copying them across at the end of the week.

No limit on busy servers

Runs are unlimited on your own WordPress site, so a large server with constant messages costs the same as a small one.

Both directions in one place

Discord can start workflows and ClickUp can start workflows, so tasks and announcements can travel either way with the same tool.

Common questions

What can a ClickUp Discord integration do with FlowMattic?

It turns Discord forum posts, channel messages and role mentions into ClickUp tasks, and sends ClickUp changes such as new assignees, status or priority to Discord channels or direct messages. Each workflow is built in wp-admin and tested with real data first.

Can Discord members see when their bug is fixed?

Yes, if you keep the forum post link on the task. Start from Task Status Updated, filter for your fixed status and post the news to the channel, or reply in the forum post with Send message in Forum Post.

Can I give a Discord role when a task is done?

Yes. Add Role is a Discord action, so a workflow from Task Status Updated can give a contributor role to the member who reported the issue, as long as you store their Discord name on the task.

Will every Discord message create a task?

Only if you build it that way. Watch a specific channel or forum, and add a Filter for a keyword or a reaction tag if you want only some messages to become tasks.

Can comments in ClickUp be posted to Discord?

Yes. Task Comment Posted is a ClickUp trigger, so new comments can be sent to a channel. Pick one channel per list to keep conversations separate.
