Some information only arrives by email: customer questions, server alerts, supplier notices, daily reports. Forward those messages to your Email Parser address and FlowMattic turns each one into a Slack post, a direct message or a file upload, chosen by sender, subject or keywords. Teams see what matters in Slack without everyone watching the same inbox.

Email Parser and Slack workflows you can build
Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.
Ready-made template
Post forwarded support emails to a Slack channel
Forward the support mailbox to the parser address and each email appears in #support with sender, subject and body, so the whole team can see and claim it.
Forward invoices by email and post support mail to Slack
A Router checks the body. Messages about invoices are forwarded to accounts by email, messages about support go to Slack, and an email that mentions both is treated as an invoice.
A Lookup Table matches the sender's address to the account manager's email, Slack finds that teammate, and they get a DM instead of waiting for someone to notice the shared inbox.
Email Received→Lookup Table→Find User by Email→Send Direct Message
Turn monitoring alerts into an incident post and topic
Uptime tools send alert emails. A Filter passes subjects with DOWN, the alert is posted to #ops, and the channel topic changes so anyone joining knows an incident is open.
Daily exports and PDF reports that arrive as attachments are uploaded to the reporting channel, so people open them in Slack instead of asking who has the email.
Email Received→Upload File
Post a short AI digest of long newsletters
Industry newsletters are useful but long. An AI Agent pulls out the three points that matter to your team and posts them to #news with the original subject.
Email Received→AI Agent→Send Channel Message
Set up: support emails in a channel
At the end, every email forwarded to your parser address is posted in the Slack channel you choose.
1
Connect Slack
Under Connects, add a Slack connection for your workspace.
2
Get the parser address
Create a workflow with Email Parser Email Received and copy the email address the trigger gives you.
3
Forward the mailbox
Set your support mailbox to forward messages to that address, then send a test email to capture the fields.
4
Post to Slack
Add Slack Send Channel Message, choose the channel, build the message from the sender, subject and body, then switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair
A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.
Good to know
Email Parser only has a trigger and Slack has no triggers, so messages flow one way: from email into Slack.
The parser captures what is in each email. When you need a value from inside the body, such as an order number, pull it out with Text Formatter before posting.
Forwarding rules are set in your own mail provider. Test with a real forwarded message, because forwarded emails can differ from ones sent directly.
Long email bodies make long Slack posts. Trim the body with Text Formatter or summarise it with an AI Agent.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic
Email Parser and Slack connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.
Mail is parsed by your own site
Emails are handled by FlowMattic on your WordPress install before anything is posted to Slack, with no outside parsing service.
High-volume inboxes cost the same
Runs are unlimited, so a mailbox that forwards hundreds of alerts a day needs no larger plan.
Works with any sender
Any system that can send email can now post to Slack, including old tools with no Slack app of their own.
Common questions
How does the Email Parser Slack integration work?
The Email Parser trigger gives you an email address. Anything sent or forwarded there starts a FlowMattic workflow, and a Slack action such as Send Channel Message posts the sender, subject and body to the channel you choose.
Can different emails go to different channels?
Yes. Add a Router after the trigger with a path for each rule, for example by sender domain or by a word in the subject, and give each path its own Slack step.
Can I reply to the email from Slack?
Not through this pair, since Slack has no triggers here. Include the sender's address in the post so a teammate can reply from their own mail app.
Do attachments come through?
Attachments captured by the trigger can be sent with Slack Upload File. Send a test email with an attachment first to see the fields the parser provides.
Can I stop newsletters and spam from reaching Slack?
Add a Filter after the trigger that only lets through certain senders or subjects. Everything else stops quietly and nothing is posted.
