Connect Typeform and Airtable

Typeform is good at asking questions and Airtable is good at keeping the answers in order. FlowMattic, running on your WordPress site, writes each Typeform response into an Airtable base, picks the table by answer, updates records you already hold and can tidy or classify the answers on the way in.

When Typeform fires New Form Submission, FlowMattic runs Create Record in Airtable with the data from that event.

Typeform and Airtable workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Save each Typeform response as an Airtable record

Survey replies, applications and signups land in an Airtable table field by field, ready to sort, filter, assign and link to other records.

File job applicants in the table for their role

Hiring teams use one application form. A Router reads the role chosen and writes the candidate to the engineering, sales or support table, so each hiring manager sees only their pipeline.

Keep only qualified leads in the sales base

A Filter checks budget or team size answers and passes only leads that meet your bar, so the sales base is a working list instead of every curious visitor.

Add follow-up answers to an existing record

Send a second Typeform with the Airtable record ID as a hidden field. Each reply updates that record, so onboarding or post-event answers sit on the same row as the original signup.

Sort open-ended feedback by theme with AI

An AI Agent reads the free-text answer and labels it with a theme and sentiment, which go into their own Airtable fields so product teams can group comments without reading every one.

Store booking dates in a format Airtable accepts

Date answers can arrive in a different format from the one your date field expects. Date/Time Formatter converts them first, so calendar and timeline views in Airtable show the booking on the right day.

Delete a record when someone asks to be removed

A removal-request Typeform carrying the record ID looks up the Airtable record and deletes it, giving you a tidy route for privacy requests.

Set up: Typeform responses as records

When you finish, each new Typeform response is saved as a record in your Airtable table.

  1. Prepare the table

Create Airtable fields for the answers you want to keep, such as Name, Email, Company and Answer, plus a Submitted date field.

  2. Connect both apps

Add a Typeform connection and an Airtable connection under Connects.

  3. Start from New Form Submission

Create a workflow with the Typeform New Form Submission trigger, choose the form and send a test response so FlowMattic captures the answers.

  4. Map Create Record

Add an Airtable step with Create Record, pick the base and table, map each answer to its field, test it and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Typeform has no actions in FlowMattic, so Airtable's New Record trigger cannot send anything back to a form. Workflows here start from a Typeform response.
  • Answers are named by your questions, so the mapping above is an example. Rename questions clearly before mapping to make the fields easy to spot.
  • Update Record and Delete Record need the Airtable record ID, so pass it into the form as a hidden field or look it up first.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Typeform and Airtable connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Answers become usable data

Each response arrives in Airtable as typed fields you can link, filter and assign, rather than rows in a form export.

Big surveys, same cost

Runs are unlimited on every plan, so a survey that collects thousands of responses in a week costs nothing extra in FlowMattic.

Response data stays with you

Each response is handled on your own WordPress server on its way to Airtable, not inside a separate automation account.

Common questions

What does the Typeform Airtable integration do?

It saves every new Typeform response in an Airtable table, with each answer mapped to a field. With Router, Filter and other FlowMattic tools it can also pick the table, skip some responses, or update and delete existing records.

Can one form write to several Airtable tables?

Yes. Add a Router after the trigger and give each path its own Create Record step pointed at a different table or base.

Can a response update a record instead of adding one?

Yes. Put the record ID into the form as a hidden field and use Update Record. Without an ID, store the email and look the record up first.

Do file uploads from Typeform reach Airtable?

File upload answers arrive as links to the uploaded files. Map the link into a URL or attachment field in Airtable.

Can a new Airtable record send someone a Typeform?

Not through Typeform, which has no actions here. Start from Airtable's New Record and send the form link with an email or chat app instead.
