Connect Zoom and Slack

A lot of what happens in Zoom needs to be known in Slack: a meeting ended, a summary is ready, a recording can be shared, someone registered for the webinar. FlowMattic watches the Zoom events you pick and posts them to the right Slack channel or person from your WordPress site, so remote teams stop asking where the notes are.

When Zoom fires Meeting Ended, FlowMattic runs Send Channel Message in Slack with the data from that event.

Zoom and Slack workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Post a Slack message when a Zoom meeting ends

As each meeting closes, a message with the topic, host and duration goes to the project channel, so people who missed it know to look for the notes.

Turn the Zoom meeting summary into action items in Slack

When Zoom finishes a summary, FlowMattic fetches it, an AI Agent pulls out decisions and owners, and the list is posted in the channel where the work happens.

Share each cloud recording as a file in Slack

Once a cloud recording is ready, FlowMattic finds its download link and uploads the file to the team channel, which suits short standups and design reviews.

Tell sales about every new webinar registrant

Each registration posts the person's name, email and company to a sales channel, so reps can research attendees before the webinar starts.

DM the host when a key client joins the meeting

A Filter checks the participant's email against your client domains. When one joins, the host gets a direct message so nobody leaves an important guest in the waiting room.

Set your Slack status while a meeting is running

When a meeting starts, your status changes to In a meeting with the topic, and when it ends a second step clears it, so colleagues know when to expect a reply.

Send Zoom Phone voicemails to a support channel

Each new voicemail posts the caller's number and the time to #support, so whoever is on duty can call back without checking the phone app.

Add new Zoom users to the team's Slack channels

When IT adds a person to the Zoom account, FlowMattic finds them in Slack by email and invites them to the onboarding channel.

Set up: a message when a meeting ends

When you finish, each Zoom meeting that ends posts a short message to the Slack channel you pick.

  1. Connect both apps

Add your Zoom account and your Slack workspace under Connects in FlowMattic.

  2. Start with Meeting Ended

Create a workflow with the Zoom Meeting Ended trigger, follow the steps it shows, and end a short test meeting to capture data.

  3. Format the duration

Add Date/Time Formatter or Number Formatter if you want the start time or duration shown in a friendlier way.

  4. Post to Slack

Add Send Channel Message, choose the channel and build the text from the meeting topic, host and time. Test it and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • The workflows on this page run from Zoom to Slack. A Slack message cannot create or change a Zoom meeting.
  • New Meeting Summary needs Zoom's meeting summary feature, and recording triggers need cloud recording. Local recordings on a laptop do not start these workflows.
  • Zoom Phone triggers such as New Voicemail (Zoom Phone) only apply if your account uses Zoom Phone.
  • Set Status changes the status of the connected Slack user, so connect the Slack account whose status should change.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Zoom and Slack connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Notes reach the people who missed it

Summaries, recordings and action items appear in the channel where the work is discussed, not in someone's inbox.

Every meeting, no per-run fees

A team with dozens of calls a day runs every workflow without counting tasks, because runs are unlimited.

Meeting content stays with you

Summaries and recordings pass through FlowMattic on your own WordPress server on the way to Slack.

Common questions

Can I post the Zoom AI summary to Slack automatically?

Yes. Use New Meeting Summary as the trigger, fetch the text with Get Meeting Summary and post it with Send Channel Message. An AI Agent step in between can shorten it to decisions and next steps.

Can different meetings post to different channels?

Yes. Put a Router after the trigger with conditions on the meeting topic or host, and give each path a Send Channel Message step for its channel.

Can I share the recording link instead of uploading the file?

Yes. Find Recording and Download returns the recording details, so you can post the share link with Send Channel Message instead of using Upload File.

Can Slack tell me who attended a meeting?

Yes. After Meeting Ended, run Find Meeting or Webinar Participants and post the names. Iterator or Text Formatter turns the list into readable lines.

Does this work for webinars too?

Yes. Zoom's webinar triggers, such as Webinar Started, Webinar Ended and New Webinar Registrant, can post to Slack the same way meetings do.
