Connect Fluent Forms and Google Sheets

Fluent Forms collects the entry, and Google Sheets is where many teams read, sort and share it. FlowMattic writes each entry to a row, and it can also read the sheet while the visitor waits, to pick a redirect page, show a status message or close a class that is full. It suits WordPress site owners who run their admin from a spreadsheet.

Fluent Forms and Google Sheets workflows you can build

Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.

Save each Fluent Forms entry as a sheet row

Every answer goes into its own column, so the whole team can read, filter and share entries without a WordPress login.

Redirect visitors to a page picked from a sheet

Look up the visitor's answer, such as a postcode or product, in a sheet of URLs and send them to the matching page after they submit.

Set up: each entry saved as a row

When you are done, every entry of your chosen form adds one row to a Google Sheet.

  1. Match the columns to the form

Create a sheet with one header per form field, plus a column for the entry date.

  2. Connect Google Sheets

Add a Google Sheets connection under Connects in FlowMattic. Fluent Forms is on the same site and is ready to use.

  3. Pick the form

Create a workflow with New Form Submission, choose the form and submit it once to capture the fields.

  4. Write the row

Add Add New Row, choose the spreadsheet and tab, map each field to its column, test and switch the workflow on.

Triggers and actions in this pair

A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.

Good to know

  • Set Custom Response and Redirect to Custom URL only affect the visitor who just submitted, so keep the sheet lookup short and in the same workflow.
  • New Payment Submission (Pro) requires Fluent Forms Pro and a form with payments turned on.
  • Field names come from your form, so the mapping above is an example. Check how multi-choice fields look in the captured test entry before mapping them to one cell.
  • Lookup Row Data needs an exact value to search for, so keep reference numbers and postcodes in a consistent format in the sheet.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic

Fluent Forms and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.

Entries leave from your own server

Form data goes from your WordPress database to Google directly, with no other service keeping a copy.

The sheet can talk back

Fluent Forms actions let a sheet lookup change what the visitor sees, which a one-way export cannot do.

Popular forms cost the same

Runs are unlimited, so a busy registration form needs no bigger plan.

Common questions

Do I need the Fluent Forms Google Sheets add-on?

No. FlowMattic connects to Google Sheets itself, and the same workflow can add steps such as a lookup, a Router or an AI Agent before the row is written.

Can different forms write to different tabs?

Yes. Build one workflow per form with its own tab, or use one workflow with a Router that picks the tab based on a field.

Can I stop spam or test entries reaching the sheet?

Add a Filter after the trigger. For example, continue only when the email field is filled and the message does not contain words you choose.

How does the redirect lookup work?

Lookup Row Data searches a column for the visitor's answer and returns that row. Map the URL column from the result into Redirect to Custom URL.

Can I update a row instead of adding a new one?

Yes. Search for the email or reference with Lookup Row Data, then use Update Row on the row it returns.
