ClickUp runs the work, and Google Sheets is often where clients, finance and managers look at it. FlowMattic writes ClickUp tasks, statuses and tracked time into rows, and turns rows from a backlog or checklist sheet into ClickUp tasks. It helps agencies and project leads report on work and take requests from people who will never log in to ClickUp.

When ClickUp fires Task Created, FlowMattic runs Add New Row in Google Sheets with the data from that event.

ClickUp and Google Sheets workflows you can build
Each one uses only triggers and actions the two integrations ship today, plus FlowMattic's own tools. Where the library has a ready-made template, import it instead of building from scratch.
Ready-made template
Add a row for every new ClickUp task
Name, list, assignee and due date land in a sheet as each task is created, giving managers a log they can filter and chart.
When a task's status changes, the workflow finds its row by task ID and updates the status, so the client sheet matches the board.
Task Status Updated→Lookup Row Data→Update Row
Build a timesheet from tracked time
Each change to tracked time adds a row with the task, person and hours, which is the starting point for client billing or payroll.
Task Time Tracked Updated→Add New Row
Add a standard checklist to new onboarding tasks
Keep your onboarding steps in a sheet. New tasks in the onboarding list get a checklist with one item per row, so the process stays the same each time.

Triggers and actions in this pair
A trigger starts a workflow. An action is something FlowMattic does in the app as a step.
Good to know
Keep the task ID in the sheet. Lookup Row Data uses it to find the right row when a status or time entry changes.
Assignees and tags arrive as lists, so a task with several people may need a Text Formatter step to fit in one cell.
ClickUp actions here create and change tasks, lists and goals, but cannot read a whole list. To report on many tasks at once, log them as they are created.

Why run this pair with FlowMattic
ClickUp and Google Sheets connect through FlowMattic on your own site, with no separate automation account in the middle and no charge per run.
Clients see work without a seat
A shared sheet shows task progress to people who do not need a ClickUp account.
Project data passes through your site
Task names and hours go from ClickUp to Google through your own WordPress server.
Every task logged, same price
Runs are unlimited, so logging each task and time entry across many spaces costs nothing extra.
Common questions
Can I export existing ClickUp tasks to the sheet?
The workflow logs tasks from the moment it is switched on. For older tasks, export once from ClickUp and paste them in, then let the workflow keep the sheet current.
Can rows create subtasks?
Yes. Use Create Sub Task with the parent task ID from a column, for example to break a sheet of deliverables into subtasks of one project task.
Can deleted tasks be removed from the sheet?
Yes. Start with Task Deleted, find the row with Lookup Row Data and run Delete Row, or update a status cell if you prefer to keep a record.
Can different lists go to different tabs?
Yes. Add a Router after the trigger that checks the list name and send each task to an Add New Row step for its own tab.
Is the time log precise enough for billing?
It records what ClickUp sends when tracked time changes. Check a few rows against ClickUp's own time report before you invoice from it.
